5 of the Cheapest Places to Get Drunk in Cork

When it comes to relaxing after a hard day of studying (or at least pretending to study), nothing beats a drink. Except for a cheap drink that is.

Because we know that when you’re a student, your budget is tight. But let's face it, those alcohol fuelled nights, followed by mornings of ‘beer fear’ are a rite of passage you can’t afford to give up. We’ve scoured the city for the best student deals in Cork and come up with a list of the cheapest places to get drunk.

The Old Oak

Located right in the centre of Cork the Old Oak is a late night bar that closes at 2.30am making it perfect for when you don’t have 9 am lectures the next day. It draws a huge student crowd and is a firm favourite among Cork’s international students.

With live music throughout the week and a DJ all weekend, there’s never a dull moment. It’s not the cheapest on the list but under 5 euros for a pint isn’t bad when it comes with an atmosphere like The Old Oak.

Crane Lane

If you want options alongside your beer, then Crane Lane is the place to go. The theatre offers, well theatre performances (duh!) for those that appreciate the arts. But it also sports 4 different bars and live music every night of the week so you’ll be spoilt for choice without trawling the streets.

The outdoor beer garden is unrivalled in Cork, making it the ultimate go-to watering hole in the summer months.

An Brog

This late night bar has arguably the most fun atmosphere in Cork. They host DJ’s every night from Monday to Saturday. And with quiz night Mondays and beer pong Tuesdays it’s a great way to mark the start of the week.

They also offer a few of the best student meal deals in Cork, pizza and wine for under 25 euros? Yes, please!

The Birdie Bar

So far we’ve covered places for night owls. But what about when you’re done with lectures for the day and are ready for a cheeky pint? The Birdie Bar is right inside Rearden’s bar and serves as THE place to go for early birds.

Who needs student special offers when Cork has a bar that offers pints for just 3 euros?!

The Meatball Place

Last but not least on our list, is The Meatball Place. Offering perhaps the cheapest student lunch in Cork, this is the ideal place to get the party started. And the deals don’t end there. Cocktails are 2 for 1 every weekday afternoon. Which is why we have made the lists of cheapest places to get drunk in Cork.

So there it is. 5 of the most wallet-friendly places to get your drink on in Cork. What are you waiting for? Don’t waste any more of your valuable drinking time on the internet, get to the bar. Oh, and make mine a double!
